How many of you have prayer requests when you are praying to God? How many of you believe in your prayers being answered? Do you truly believe in your prayers being answered?

7 Steps to Answered Prayers

And whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.
John 14:13

Even though His ways are higher than our ways, He wants us to have our prayers answered
When our prayers are answered, the Father is glorified in the Son

“And in that day you will ask Me nothing. Most assuredly, I say to you, whatever you ask the Father in My name He will give you.
John 16:23

When we received answered prayers, not only is the Father glorified, our joy will be full.
To be victorious in our Christian life, we need to know how to pray the way God wants us to pray.

Luke 11

Why are our prayers not answered while our friends’ is?

1. Be specific in your prayer

So Jesus answered and said to him, “What do you want Me to do for you?” The blind man said to Him, “Rabboni, that I may receive my sight.”
Mark 10:51

Jesus asked What do you want Me to do for you?

“Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.
Matthew 7:7

That means you can’t be general in your prayer
You can’t seek for something if you don’t know what you are looking for
To Jesus, every prayer must be specific.
You must decide what you want from God.
Every time you pray, and do your quiet time, you must ask what you want from God.

For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened. 9 Or what man is there among you who, if his son asks for bread, will give him a stone? 10 Or if he asks for a fish, will he give him a serpent?
Matthew 7:8-10

When we pray specifically, God will grant our specific request.
Don’t be fearful.
Jesus says when you ask for bread, will I give you a stone? If you ask for a fish, would I give you a serpent? (Luke 11:11)
But you need to decide on what you want.

It is better to pray 2-3 minutes and know what you are praying for, than 2-3 hours when you don’t know what you are praying for.

Don’t pray to be religious or to fulfill a religious duty or obligation.
Don’t lock into passivity – ‘God’s will to be done’
Jesus will is to grant us specifically what we ask in His name.
So that our joy may be full.

For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things.
Matthew 6:32

He wants us to ask specifically because He wants to see our faith.

2. To pray according to the Word

The names of God is very important – above every other Name

<Knowing the Names of God is important and allows us to pray according to God’s attribute – as Joehovah Rapha, Jehovah Nissi, etc>

I will worship toward Your holy temple,
And praise Your name
For Your lovingkindness and Your truth;
For You have magnified Your word above all Your name.
Psalm 138:2

Heaven and earth will pass away, but His word will never pass away.
In the beginning was the Word

John 15:7 – …… MY WORDS abide in you…

When the word of God abides in us, our prayer will never be selfish or carnal.

I have a tummy ache versus In Jesus Name, I command this tummy ache to be gone. By His stripes I am healed…
Complaint versus prayer that is asked according to the Word of God in faith.

The simplest way to know God’s will is through the bible.

Faith comes by knowing and knowing by the Word of God.
If you have the faith to pray according to the will of God, you can have your pray answered.

Today if you would to pray with the Word of God in your prayer, if you were to pray according to the will of God, you will have faith to know that your prayer will be answered.

Faith is nothing but the purpose of the will resting on God’s Word and saying I must have it. To believe truly is to will firmly.

Find scriptures that definitely promise what you desire
Isaiah 49:4, 18 – a scripture given to Sun
Mark 4:15 – a scripture given to PK

<Both Sun and PK has a different scripture that they meditate on>

Sun prayed the Word of God.
So how do you go through a hardship? Find the scriptures that speak of the will of God.

3. Meditate God’s Word in your heart

Firmly fix it in your heart.

This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.
Joshua 1:8 – meditation has to do with your mouth

Hagah (Hebrew) to mutter – to say something to yourself utterly
As you keep saying this to yourself, the Word will move from your head to your heart.

Let your character or moral disposition be free from love of money [including greed, avarice, lust, and craving for earthly possessions] and be satisfied with your present [circumstances and with what you have]; for He [God]Himself has said, I will not in any way fail you nor give you up nor leave you without support. [I will] not, [I will] not, [I will] not in any degree leave you helpless nor forsake nor let [you] down (relax My hold on you)! [Assuredly not!]
Hebrews 13:5 (AMP)

What do we feel when we feel confused or fear gripped?
We meditate on the Word day and night!
You WILL NOT, You WILL NOT, You WILL NOT relax Your hold on us
Meditate on it in your heart

4. Use the Sword of the Spirit against Satan

And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God;
Ephesians 6:17

Now when the tempter came to Him, he said, “If You are the Son of God, command that these stones become bread.”
But He answered and said, “It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.’”
Matthew 4:3-4

Satan also knows the Word! (But) Jesus drew out the meditated sword of God from His heart (against Satan)

And he said to Him, “All these things I will give You if You will fall down and worship me.”
Then Jesus said to him, “Away with you, Satan! For it is written, ‘You shall worship the Lord your God, and Him only you shall serve.’”
Matthew 4:9-10

What do you need from Jesus? Find your scripture, meditate on it, and use it in our warfare against Satan.

5. Fight the good fight of faith

6. Receive by faith

7. Continually thank God in advance for the answer
