As I come to the halfway mark of SOT, I continue to realize that there is so much I do not know about God my Father even though I have been a follower for a good amount of years. Almost every other day as I go through the lessons and read the reference books, I am challenged to know Him more, to love Him more and to love His people more. We can all recite the two most important commandments that is encapsulated into four words; Love God (Mark 12:30), Love People (Mark 12:31). But how many of us can really honestly say we can catch the very essence of that verse, or every other verses for that matter? (Matthew 28:19-20, 1 John 3:16, Hebrews 12:1 etc)
God call us out of where we were (a life of sin and without God), to live a dynamic life for Him, to live our lives for Him and Him alone. The very reason why we are still living is for His glorification. It’s not enough to simply just know (and recite) the core verses, go to cell group meetings without fail every week and serve in a ministry on weekends.
There’s gotta be more to life than that. (Don’t get me wrong, not that there’s anything wrong with that.)
I didn’t sign up to serve a dead god! So didn’t you! God is very much alive and He is moving, relatively fast too.
When we can totally submit ourselves to God and His will, know the full revelation of His Word, apply the Word in our lives, and Ginosko (know by experience) Him for ourselves, our lives will never be the same again. Dull life becomes colorful, mundane life becomes a life of adventure, routine life (which includes church-going believers) becomes utterly disrupted in a positive way. God will take us on an adventure beyond our wildest dreams, He will take us to places we can never fathom possible, He will direct our paths – sometimes into seemingly impossible situations, He will unfold His signs and wonders in our lives.
Some people put it as ‘a risk to live totally dependent on the guidance of God’. But from the way I look at it and from how God directed the paths of the Heroes of Faith in the Bible, I would say it is a risk worth taking! I am willing to move with God even if it is risky. What about you?
Trust in the LORD with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths. – Proverbs 3:5-6
