Food for Thought – Life Navigators Ep 6

I was just watching Episode 6 of Life Navigator (从心开始) on channel U together with my mom and I felt grief for this young mother who has been through so much, two failed marriages, raising two daughters and one baby and at the same time, take care of her daughter who is mentally unwell due to a medical condition and has to go to a special school. Now, many tell her that there isn’t much hope for her daughter but she refuses to submit to fate (or truth whichever you choose to believe in). I mean which mother can give up hope on their own children?

Getting married at 19, she thought that it could all work out since they (first ex-husband) have been together for 2 to 3 years. Who could have thought after marriage, he would become physical, steal money and even suggest their daughters be sold for money. The next husband was no better.

I wonder, if any of us is in her shoes, would we be able to go through it like how she did? In any case, life is never fair. Sometimes in life, bad things do happen to good people and vice versa. As Dale Carnegie would say, “When life gives you lemons, make a lemonade.” No matter what life dishes at us, we just gotta take it and keep walking, for there is always a light at the end of every tunnel no matter how long it may be.

Yours Sincerely,
Reuel Eugene.

  1. yea, we do need to build on our compassion for people and i really think by exposing ourselves by watching this programme or volunteering whenever possible is a good way to know how they feel and what they went through. Thanks for sharing! Reminds me that whatever difficulties i go through is tiny compared to some others and i should be more positive in life 🙂

one day i should really go on a humanitarian mission! Sun is definitely our role model in that aspect! 😉

  2. Hi Reuel and Tongyan, I m the young mother of the show. Happened to see your posts thru some link and just want to say a big thank you for the encouragement.
    Thank you 🙂
